I need help on Sonic Chronicles!

I've recently got Sonic Chronicles for the DS which I am happy about, really happy. I'm pissed 'cause I can't go any further than I have.

Ugh. I was doing so well. Then came chapter 5, I can't find where I have to go. I've done the escalators, and when I got to the top I fought those Marauder people, then I couldn't find where else to go. There are two ways to go, but I can't find which way 'cause I end up back at the begining again and end up starting over.

Can someone please help me? I'm getting overly frustrated and one of these days the DS will be making friends with my wall and floor.
